History of Bhakti Siddhant Bani Seva Foundation

Bhakti Siddhanta Bani Seba Foundation

Govats Pandit Mohit Mudgal Ji Maharaj is a renowned Kathavachak (spiritual storyteller). He leads a charitable trust known as Bhakti Siddhant Vani Seva Foundation. Interestingly, Maharaj Ji never had any intention or desire to establish a foundation of his own. Everything unfolded purely by the divine grace of Shri Radha Govind Ji.

By the mercy of the Lord, Maharaj Ji met Gopal Das Sarkar at the Jagadguru Ashram, located opposite the Govind Dev Ji Temple in Jaipur. During their first meeting, Gopal Das Sarkar asked Maharaj Ji for directions to the Shrinath Ji Temple. From that very moment, the divine journey of the Foundation quietly began. Gradually, a deep and unconditional bond of love and devotion developed between Maharaj Ji and Gopal Das Sarkar.

One day, Gopal Das Sarkar shared with Maharaj Ji that he was associated with a foundation based in Kolkata, through which various social and charitable activities were carried out. He asked Maharaj Ji whether he would like to be associated with this foundation. Maharaj Ji humbly replied that he was unfamiliar with such organizations and asked what responsibilities would be required of him. Gopal Das Sarkar simply said that Maharaj Ji would only need to offer a small amount of service once a year. Accepting this with simplicity, Maharaj Ji agreed and thus became a member of the foundation.

Gradually, the foundation’s work began to expand. One day, Gopal Das Sarkar called Maharaj Ji and expressed his desire that Maharaj Ji take over the responsibility of the foundation. Maharaj Ji was completely unaware of how and why these events were unfolding. He requested some time to think. After nearly one month of contemplation, Maharaj Ji gave his consent.

Subsequently, elections were held in Kolkata, and with unanimous consent, Govats Pandit Mohit Mudgal Ji Maharaj was appointed as the President of the Foundation. Even then, Maharaj Ji was still unfamiliar with many aspects of managing a foundation. Slowly and steadily, he learned, understood, and began working wholeheartedly for the organization.

Under his guidance, a branch of the Foundation was established in Jaipur. Thereafter, several annual initiatives were started, including :

* A yoga camp once a year
* A free health check-up camp once a year
* Blanket distribution during winter
* Installation of water pots for birds
* An annual Jagannath Yatra from Kolkata

Through Maharaj Ji’s dedication and by the divine grace of Thakur Ji, people once again began joining the Foundation.

Later, a branch of the Foundation was opened in Churu, and Mr. Sanjeev Budania Ji was appointed as the General Secretary. Gopal Das Sarkar was entrusted with the responsibility of managing the Kolkata operations and serves as the Secretary of the Foundation.

Over time, Maharaj Ji became deeply concerned about the marriages of underprivileged girls. During a public program, without any prior planning, he announced that by the grace of Thakur Ji, the Foundation would sponsor the marriage of one poor girl that year. As soon as Maharaj Ji stepped down from the stage, a Brahmin woman approached him and said that her husband had recently passed away and her daughter’s marriage was scheduled in just 15 days. She asked if any help could be provided.

With complete faith in Thakur Ji, Maharaj Ji assured her that the Foundation would take full responsibility for the marriage and asked her not to worry.

However, when Maharaj Ji discussed this with the Foundation members, they declined to support the service that year, suggesting it be done later. Maharaj Ji became deeply worried and remembered Thakur Ji. By divine grace, several devotees came forward to support, and the marriage was successfully completed.

From that day onward, Maharaj Ji resolved that at least one poor girl’s marriage would be conducted every year. To date, Maharaj Ji has facilitated the Kanyadaan (marriage) of seven daughters.

Later, Maharaj Ji met Mr. Vijay Agrawal Ji, a devoted disciple of Thakur Ji. Maharaj Ji shared his mission of conducting marriages for underprivileged girls and requested his support. Vijay Agrawal Ji humbly replied that whenever such a marriage was organized, he would certainly contribute. Gradually, a deep bond of devotion and affection developed between them.

With the unanimous consent of all members, Mr. Vijay Agrawal was appointed as the Vice President of the Foundation.

Today, all the activities of the Foundation are jointly carried out by Vijay Agrawal Ji, Sanjeev Budania Ji, Gopal Das Sarkar, and Govats Pandit Mohit Mudgal Ji Maharaj.

By the grace of Thakur Ji, Maharaj Ji holds a single sacred resolve in his heart—that before leaving this mortal world, he will perform the Kanyadaan of 1008 daughters and then return to his divine abode.
